1. Summary of Role and Responsibility
The Communication Coordinator is responsible for driving, coordinating, developing, and supporting Oxfam in Timor-Leste’s key communication covering Economic Justice, Climate Justice, and Gender Justice. This includes working with Oxfam staff, allies, and partners to develop and implement communication strategies and plans, and align, link, feed into, and leverage Oxfam International and regional communications. Oxfam in Timor-Leste and globally implement strong country programs, campaigning and advocacy together with its partner and allies. This role, therefore, will also include the development of communication and media materials and the use of innovative communications strategies such as social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, among others) to effectively engage with different people and groups to influence and change minds and behaviors.
2. Salary
- Position base: in Dili, Timor-Leste, with frequent travel to the municipality
- Type of contract: Fixed term, 1-year contract. this position is open for national only.
- Salary: The maximum salary package of this position is up to US$ 1,372.70 gross per month (including the 10% wage tax deduction, pro-rate of the 13th-month bonus & 10% Social Security contribution from Oxfam, and medical allowance pro-rate). Oxfam reserves the right to offer the salary as per the experience and skills of the applicant.
- Extensive experience in Communications/Public Relations/Journalism/Marketing/Media.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, amongst others) for campaigning, influencing and advocacy for social change and transformation.
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design, and experience using social media and digital communication tools and platforms.
- Experience in communications planning and strategy.
- Able to take high quality photographs.
- Experience networking with and supporting civil society and movements in Timor-Leste.
- Proven ability to develop staff and partners’ communications capacity.
- Demonstrable understanding of gender, disability and diversity issues and proven commitment to and evidence of promoting gender and cross-cultural
- Good coordination skills and an ability to work across cross-cultural teams on shared priorities.
- High level written and spoken English and Tetum.
